Communication
Open communication between parents and practitioners is strongly encouraged. Practitioners . We use Parentzone electronic journals to send daily diaries and to communicate with parents

Funky Feet Music and Dance
Music and Dance have been proven to aid child development, including social-emotional, motor, language and literacy. At Kidz we use the Funky Feet program of Music and dance daily to aid development and physical exercise

Injuries
If your child has an accident while here at Kidz , staff will administer basic first aid.All our staff are Level 3 Paediatric First Aid Trained. If medical attention is required, attempts will be made to reach the parents immediately. Staff will call Emergency Services if required. .

Spanish Lessons
The session will allow the children to experience a different language which will be delivered by Encantada, a qualified Spanish teacher, using music and dance. The children will experience both English and Spanish, helping to develop their linguistic and communication skills.(Not available at all settings)

Nutrition
Children are encouraged to taste a variety of foods but no child is ever forced to eat foods that they do not wish to. All parts of the meal make up a child's nutritional requirement; therefore no food will be withheld. We follow the Henry Healthy eating program which helps tackle childhood obesity

Healthy Nutrition for Growing Children
The four week rotating menu is planned according to the Food Guide and recommendations from our local Public Health Unit. All food is cooked with consideration of maintaining its full nutritional value. Kidz provides a morning and afternoon snack, midday lunch and a healthy high tea. Our standards exceed the following guidelines:

Positive and consistent techniques should be used to encourage children whose play actions are both appropriate and inappropriate.
Preferred Practices
- Encourage children to participate in a wide range of group activities to enable them to develop their social skills
- Praise children and acknowledge their positive actions and attitudes, therefore ensuring that children see that we value and respect them
- Supporting and developing self-regulation and empathy as appropriate to the stage of development
- Provide activities and stories to help children learn about accepted behaviours, including opportunities for children to contribute to decisions about accepted behaviour where age/stage appropriate
Prohibited Practices
- Force children eat or drink against their will.
- Depriving the child of basic needs including food, drink, shelter, sleep, toilet use, clothing or bedding; or
- Use of harsh or degrading measures or threats or use of derogatory language directed at or used in the presence of a child that would humiliate, shame or frighten the child or undermine his or her self-respect, dignity or self-worth;
- Corporal punishment of the child;
